Finished baling first with the 190XT series III pulling a CaseIH 551SB. Temps were high 90s yesterday, topped 100 today. I have the Egging cab, days like today make me think I should see if I can find a replacement fan - it has the housing but no fan or adapter plate

Right brake done on the D17. Previous owner obliviously started and quit. End of pins chewed up, different bolts on the covers. Welded bar stock to the pin and pulled it. Have taken out at least a 5 gallon bucket of old carpet/mouse nest between bell housing and brake accesses. I think it was Aladdin's; unfortunately neither Jasmin nor the genie have materialized...

Took and got the head on my '45 C all back together. It had stuck from sitting with the PO and apparently at one point water was getting into the crank case. Since I got the tractor without a head gasket, I can't verify the cause of the problem without putting everything back together... Might fire off today if I can rig some temporary wiring up.

Got another neighbor's WD in the shop looking for more horse power! He pulled with it last weekend and came in dead last. Looks like probably going to get an engine rebuild. I've done 4 WD's over the last winter for neighbors in the area. Farmers are wanting them running again, mostly to put them back to work. Seems every farm in this area has a WD or WD45 sitting in the back row, many were new to the farms. Pattersons was a very strong Allis Chalmers dealer here for years.

.
WD did a good job as a log skidder. Old elm two foot across at the stump. Marched right up the hill to where I'm splitting them into beams. Expecting that to be a big job with all the cross linking elm does. WD started right up after sitting since last fall (battery needed a little topping off). . |

The 170 got duty on the driveway with box blade
Put a fully charged battery in the WD45. Discovered a wire from the alternator to the regulator had fallen off. I need to install a GM regulator plug on it. Maybe then it will keep the battery charged. Once up and running it raked some hay with snap coupler rake 190XT hooked to that 3pt spring tooth harrow. It's a 16 footer BTW. Like the one shown in another thread. Had to turn up the sweet corn patch. Two plantings died due to drift or over reach by the chemical applicator. It's conventional but never had that happen before. Will plant again tomorrow 7040 made some round bales later in the afternoon ![]() |
