Had a second cutting of clover cut. Small batch so I dug out the 303 for some exercise. It hadn't been used in 5 years |

My wife finished mowing with her C at the cabin and wanted to mow some rougher stuff so she asked about the G. Fired it up and off she went for the first time mowing with it. For a small tractor it really mows well.

Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!

Got the D-15 out and going, getting ready for our local show next weekend. Taking a plow to work this girl a bit. First one, a 62, needed a bunch of adjustments and coulters added. On the hayrack was the 52, it's really nice and looked like it was not in need of a pullbar adjustment. So, 52 it is. 62 went on the rack. After working on the H for awhile and getting it on the trailer to go pulling today I got the NF 45 out and went for a ride.

Used 5020fwa and 77 chain drive rake to rake 3 acres. Used 1652 Massey and 303 baler to make 80 nearly perfect bales. It’s been dry here too. Have gotten close to 300 from that spot.

With 160 tractor and 3pt disk, harrowed under first two plantings of sweet corn. After harvesting I am told to not let it stand too long, that would encourage pests. Picked over the runts/leftovers for the petting zoo and animal rescue place. I really tried to keep down weeds, using the C tractor plus #80 mounted cultivator. Must not be that good at it, I had to resort to the hoe. Plantings 3,4,5 have less weeds. Good news is so far, no corn ear worms! I didn't have any hiccups with my spraying scheduled this year, so far. This is just a garden sized operation. I like to use dad's old tractors and implements. Hand spraying for ear worm I don't mind, but hand hoeing makes me feel like not so much of a winner. World needs a dirt cheap, effective autonomous robotic hoe. With 720 garden tractor, I mowed the church's field.

Finally had time to work on these things a little. Serviced the air cleaner on CA-1, it was due. Got WD 'Grandpa' running, started right up after getting a battery with some oomph. Changed points in WD 'Micha', and worked on the new to me 17. Later got on CA-1 and mowed for an hour or so. Somehow the 6080 managed to sit in the shed and just be a workbench. Rather unusual for it.

Spent the afternoon raking with the 170. While adjusting the height of the rake I noticed something hanging off the front of the three point. Must be the sensor link for the draft control? Anyway it’s part #70242424. Crossover shaft. Am told is NLA. Will be searching for that now from a few of you

Baled up the stuff I raked yesterday with the 7040. In a good year can get 14 6x6 round bales per cutting. This time one full one and a 5 footer.

Took the nice one for a drive, took the work horse out for some mowing. Incredible weather for some open road motoring and for some ditch mowing.

The 200 needed some exercise and I've been struggling with the knotter on the 303 so we tied em together and went out to pick up the pasture. A fresh ball of twine and a couple hiccups (the splice ended up in the knotters) and yay! Ain't as nice as the Cap'ns but it got me job done
The thrower belts are old and prone to smoking so they need replaced and I didn't bother getting the wagon out anyway so we dropped the bales on the ground Edited by plummerscarin - 18 Sep 2023 at 7:52pm |
