Why didn't they put a drain plug on the suction screen cover of the 7010 power director tranny? !!
Most of the oil is drained from the transmission at this spot (less than half from the drain-plug), and when you break that thing loose - hello shower!
Since I had it off, I drilled the plate and welded on a 1/2" NF nut, and installed a drain-pan plug. You don't have to do this very often, but having a plug will sure make we want to do it again.

Removing the 3/8 bolt first with the copper washer will do the same thing, might take overnight for all the fluid to drain down. You should always remove the plate and clean the pump intake screen also. HTH, Mike
