DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THE WHOLE SHIFTER & TOWER CAN BE CHANGED BETWEEN A WD TRANSMISSION & WD45 TRANSMISSION OR VISE VERSA?

I have to agree with MACK. Remember the WD had straight gears while the very late WD's and the WD-45 had a constant mesh transmission. You shifted collars and not gears.

THANKS GUYS , I DIDN'T THINK SO BUT A FRIEND CALLED ME ,SAID HE INHERITED A WD THAT THE SHIFT TOWER WAS OFF & HE TRIED TO PUT IT BACK ON BUT COULDN'T GET TO WORK. FIGURED OUT AFTERWARDS IT WAS AN EARLIER WD BY SERIAL # & HE WAS TRYING TO PUT A BENT SHIFTER ON IT. TOLD I DIDN,T THINK IT WOULD WORK , BUT I'D ASK THE GUYS THAT KNOW.THANKS AGAIN.

Mack, you're going to have to have a talk with my WD45 then.
I used a NOS WD shift tower with the innards from the WD45, and except for the springs being too long (so I used the shorter springs, It seems to work fine.
