Still a common sight around here. Almost a large pickup sharing the same cab with the smaller breathren. Probably a 350 with a Clark, or Spicer five speed, and two speed Eaton rear.Could also be a 366 engine but the 350 was much more common.
See a lot of old tractors, wagons, implements, and trucks as yard ornaments around here too. Most have a history with the associated farm they are located at from years gone by.

That's what I drove White Freightliner. Back then they was playing with turbine power, that was something to see, look in the grill and see the trailer and the big AC powered truck pass you going across 80 in PA up the mountain like you was setting still.

First trucks I learned to drive. No power steering. Hauled grain off farm. Had to be real good at backing up blind Sind and around obstacles. If not, gets tiring real fast

Saturday_22-March-2025 Coppage Farms Freightliner "FLT" Wikipedia says built 1976-1986; however, I see several for sale listed as 1988 models. I see "FLT"s with single round head-lights, dual round head-lights, and dual rectangular head-lights; I can't find any information as to which years had what head-lights. |

2000_Lanesville Heritage Weekend Parade Lanesville - Franklin Township - Harrison County - Indiana Saturday_09-September-2000 DuCo Transportation 2000 Freightliner Classic XL #1011 (XL = 132-inch BBC = Bumper to Back of Cab = the longest made at that time) Caterpillar Power This is a very sharp Freightliner decked out with a platform over the frame for a candidates campaign crew to stand on and toss candy, ink-pens, campaign buttons, and such to the parade watchers. Scanned and restored from a poor quality 5x7 taken by a $29 35mm Polaroid point-n-shoot film camera.

You are correct on the "turnover". I've pulled several back onto the wheels. Always a lot of damage. They are lightweight, but very unstable unless very hard, level ground.

Paris - Bourbon County - Kentucky Saturday_26-July-2025 W900 Kenworth Tandem Coal Truck #28 Owned by: Carl R. Johnson of Cynthiana, Kentucky This is a Coal Truck. Note how much taller the sides are than that of a rock/gravel truck; Coal is much lighter than rock. Note the crossmember above the tailgate, always absent on a rock bed. Also note the small center door incorporated in the tailgate for dumping Coal precisely into an auger hopper. Load that bed to the gun-wales with rock and it would be far too much for a tri-axle, let alone a tandem. This bed can also serve as a rock bed so long as you don't overload it; note the tailgate chains for spreading rock. |

Hilt's Garage 389 Peterbilt Wrecker Hauling a Wrecked Wrecker As Seen on Aaron Roberts Tractor Trail Ride_2024 Westbound on KY Hwy 80 East Between Aaron's Driveway and Hawk Road North side of KY Hwy 80 in Pulaski County KY Hwy 80 East - Shopville - Pulaski County - Kentucky Saturday_08-June-2024 The Wrecker is heading Eastbound at Mile-Marker #34 and he's got her in the wind. Demolishing a Wrecker is a common occurrence when lifting and retrieving heavy wreckage; it looks like they have done a pretty good number on that white Wrecker. Hilt's is headquartered in Abingdon, Virginia. He is 190-miles from home. Scroll sideways through THE PHOTOS for a picture of this same Wrecker lifting a Bulldozer. MORE of this Wrecker lifting the Bulldozer In the linked photos, there is a Roll-back visible in the scene; apparently, the Dozer has broke it's moorings and slid off the Roll-back = a common occurrence when metal tracks are on slick metal beds and not sufficiently anchored. I wish I could have been better prepared and better situated (a bit farther away) for taking these photos; as it is, he topped the horizon and BDBDBDBDBDRRROOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! he was gone. I had to brace myself to keep from being sucked out of my seat. The whirlwind sucked the cap off the head of one of those guys ahead and it went 160-feet in the air before settling in the grass on the other side of the highway; a bird built a nest in it while it was in the air.

Big OshKosh Dump Truck As Seen on Aaron Roberts Tractor Trail Ride_2024 KY Hwy 80 East - Mile-Marker #34 South side of KY Hwy 80 in Pulaski County KY Hwy 80 East - Shopville - Pulaski County - Kentucky Saturday_08-June-2024 Isn't she beautiful ! I spent hours and wore my eyes out looking at pictures of OshKosh Trucks and found nary a one with a windshield like this one; I really like the design and think it far superior to any curved glass. Can any of you guys shed some light as to which model and when made ? Thanks.

Can't help with model and year, but looks a lot like the ones used here to clear the airport runways.

That 8100 IH, looks to have had its early life as a single axle ‘tractor’ for Estes Express Lines.

Three "359" Petes and an Autocar As Seen at Renfro Valley Appalachian Harvest Festival__2006 I-75 Exit #62 US Hwy 25 - Renfro Valley - Rockcastle County - Kentucky Saturday_07-October-2006 The 1952 Autocar DC-102 belongs to Johnny Brennan of Paris, Kentucky. As best I can determine, all three Peterbilts are "359"s. Each has different head-lights and different breathers; and, there is a wee bit of difference in each grille. The split windshields differ a bit as well. The wipers are every which way on all three. The nearer truck, the red and silver one, gives the illusion that it has a taller cab and windshield; however, I believe that is due to a difference in the visors. If you are going to Renfro Valley, it does no good to wash and black the tires; Renfro Valley is and always was a swamp; I have been there when several big tractors spent their day log-chaining people in and out; and, some that don't know how to drive, slip and slide and crash into others; more than a few have returned to their vehicle to find a fender knocked off. 37° 23' 1.07"N 84° 19' 43.12"W Elevation 928'
