In changing the seal is there any timing procedures for setting the engine to top dead centre #1? Hopefully I'm making sense asking.

The doctor said transfer pump meaning before the injection pump just to keep a steady flow going into the injector pump. I have not worked on a HD 6 and the Buda engine so look at yours. But with guys saying the same thing I bet you find a transfer pump before the injection pump. If so timing is not a issue.

HD6 and HD11 with American Bosch PSB fuel pumps; the fuel transfer pump bolts on side of main injection pump. No timing involved to remove, repair and reinstall transfer pump

Sorry, should have been more clear about that. I meant, you don't have to disassemble the transfer pump , After you remove it from the injector pump. No timing issues.
