first- how do i wire the reel speed for a 316 head to an m2
second, how do i remove the cyl bars- i might get a new set- is it metric? are the backs welded in and i just turn the outside bolt?

I'd have to look at the reel wiring but the cyl bars are just bolted on. There is a nut and lockwasher on the back. Make sure when you replace them you put them on in pairs with one across form the other.

Depending on the condition of the bolt heads on the cylinder bars you may just remove them with a torch just be careful not to burn the combine up.

Ive always done the bars by removing the panel on top of the throat. I dont know for sure how the wiring is on the header, but all you really need to change is to run a wire from the reel speed button to the hydraulic reel control on the header. Good luck.

header is wired with either a dual pole dual throw switch that is cross wired like a actuator on a hay baler with electric motor for actuator. The wiring diagram is in the back of op man for factory wiring.

Wires should be in harness by return to cylinder plugs should match head.

Use a torch .. have a garden hose ready ..BETTER YET WET IT DOWN BEFORE .. make sure you turn the bars a 180 as the back ..(leading edge ) is not worn unless someone else turned them ..
