My D17 PTO lever does not "catch" or turn on and off the PTO anymore. I seem to remember that there may be a roll pin inside that needs to be replaced to fix this problem. Can anyone give me some insite? Thank you for any help.

Yes, it is quite possible that the roll pin needs replacing.  Can be accessed by the panel on the right side of the torque tube by the power director.  However, I would find it hard to work through that small hole, it would be best to split the tractor maybe.

Willard, your roll pin is sheared. Going to be a problem just to get it out. And you won't be able to get a new pin in, or at least I couldn't get it in when I had to do it. So I grabbed a shearpin (bolt and lock nut) for the 273 New Holland baler and tightened that in there and never has caused a problem since.
