How do you check the oil level in the final drives? The fill is under the seat.

There should be drains at the bottom..you might have to drain the oil out to see what you have...level wise and see the condition of the oil then dump it back in. Edited by Austin(WI) - 20 Apr 2010 at 3:32pm |

Yup, there are drain plugs at the bottom outside of the final drive casting, there are also level plugs about half way up the casting on the rear outside of each one. They might be low, they might be high, if the pinion shaft seals leak they could be overfull. There are two large plugs on the top of the rear housing, they are the fill plugs and also the breather for the final drives. HTH |
