What all swaps out, when you swap a WF for a NF on a WD / WD-45?

The wide front has about half a round of play in the steering.... the NF has almost zero.... the casting beteween the frame rails, which I assume is the steering box, does it swap, or just the pedestal below, vs. pitman arm?  (hate to be asking a dumb question, but I can't get the tractors side by side to look at them good - one has junk piled atop it)

If we have to swap in the wore WF steering box, can the internals be swapped, to keep the slop to a minimum?

If that won't work, where's a place to go for steering box parts?

you will also need to take the pin out of the steering u-joint. it is about a foot behind the gear box on the inside of the frame rail. also the pin is tapered so it will only drive out one way. you will probably have to loosen the front motor brace that runs from rail to rail, that will let you pry the rails open a little to make the swap easier.

The worm gear and steering worm should interchange. you will need to swap the bolster the NF won't have holes for the front support plate. Check your U-joint they usualy are a major contributer to front end play.

You will also have to take the radiator bolts out of the frame.

Ok the motors / radiators are out of both tractors, should be easy enough.

Sounds like we _have_ to swap the bolster (is that the gearbox?), so to tighten it back up then swap the good internals out of the NF into the shot WF gearbox.

U joints are tight.  slop is coming from the box itself on the WF.

Thanks for the help....
