Manual calls for straight 30 wt and says not to use multi grade oil. Will 15-40 Rotella work

I can't imagine how an engine would know it had multi weight oil in it.......... 15-40 is an EXCELLENT diesel motor oil. 15 will get easy starts and fast oil pressure buildup in the winter, and 40wt is a good oil for southern US states in summer.

Don't forget to drain and replace the oil, in the injector pump, occasionally! IIRR, it has its own oil reservoir, with its own oil plug...

I guess if Eric hasn't had any issues in 10 years than the injection pump doesn't care about using a multi-weight oil either. I have been trying to change all my diesel engines over to Rotella 15w-40 and just have one oil on the place.Chris

the pump won't care! put 15W40 in it, it'll be just fine.
