   I never been in one of them, but always told the same as HD 7 with the 3 cylinder Detroit Diesel being the difference. 
   
  Wild guess from other crawlers of that vintage is both the steering clutches and bevel gear all comes out together.  Look and see if General Gear has any service manuals for a K or HD7 on there web site.

   On the HD10,  bevel does not come out but one pinion has to be removed so the bevel shaft can slide over for removal of opposite side.  bevel is splined to short shaft but runs on bearings separate from shaft.  i believe HD7 is similar
