The gears are locked up in the WC Speed patrol I got a few weeks ago. I took the gear lever out, someone had put a very small bolt to hold it in ( lot of flop ). There was like a small pin about 4 inches long on the side of the shift lever it seemed to be stuck and to far up the shaft , it came loose and I removed it. I cant get it to slide back up in the groove now. I took the top off the trans. The shifter forks are very hard to move. I can take a large screwdriver and force them back and forth. I would like a telephone number so I could call and dicuss  my problems in more detail. Thanks , for any help you can give. J. Barefoot

Do you have a repair manual? I was trying to post a picture of the shifter and rails but can't seem to get it done. The rod on the side goes to a reverse lock out and should continue all the way up to the shifter knob and attach to a small lever there. If it is getting stuck in 2 gears, the "ball" on the bottom of the shifter is probably worn to a point that it needs welded up or a replacement shifter.
