Splitting our 7000 ahead of the transmission..took all the bolts out of the case, and it wont come apart.  Took the top off the transmission and can see what looks like two bolts or studs threaded into the front of the case from the opposite side??  Is the gasket just holding it now?   Thanks, -Wes

Ya gotta remove the trans brake puck and shaft or it will never come apart, dont force it to much or youll break something expensive!!!

Ok..so does that mean I have to pull the valve body off?? or how do you remove the trans brake?

Yes, pull the valve body for access to the shaft and puck, the  shaft comes out the left side but I cannt remember what holds it in.  Youll need the valve body off anyway to get the puck and shaft back thru,.   Good luck

After removing the valve assembly, I think there's four tubes that have to be pulled out thru the side. The trans brake lever shaft pulls out the left side after driving out a roll pin.
