Has anyone ever used a mix of purex and vinegar to clean old gas out of a gas tank. I was told this by a radiator shop. I power washed the tank but it still has old gas smell. I will say that all but the very bottom came clean and shiney with no signs of rust. right in the bottom is old gas stuck like varnish. |

Oven cleaner should dissolve it to the point you can hose the residue away with water, use acetone to remove the moisture.

I think Phosphoric acid is what came in the Kreem kit that I used on my B. It worked really well but it might go too far for what you want to do?
