Has anyone ever used a mix of purex and vinegar to clean old gas out of a gas tank. I was told this by a radiator shop. I power washed the tank but it still has old gas smell. I will say that all but the very bottom came clean and shiney with no signs of rust. right in the bottom is old gas stuck like varnish.

Oven cleaner should dissolve it to the point you can hose the residue away with water, use acetone to remove the moisture.

I think Phosphoric acid is what came in the Kreem kit that I used on my B. It worked really well but it might go too far for what you want to do?
