no i didnt, i never thought of it..i bought the tractor in pieces ,the old owner said the block cracked so he went and picked up a bare block, thats why its been overhauled.the head is the original head and didnt get water in the oil before, it leaked water out the side of the block (i guess it froze),but still ran before he tore it down, is it common to have bad freeze plugs in the head?? i thought i'd start over and do it myself this time, i have rebuilt a few wd's and never had a problem and am still working them...thanks Jb

Pull oil pan ,see where anti . is coming from ,inside sleeve around piston, outside sleeve or coming down with retrun oil from top end. If motor was rebuilt and the head was done freeze plugs should have been replace.Pull valve cover and check that before pulling pan.
