Back from Louisville/National Ag Machinery Show

Glad you did that, i do the same thing at the shows I've been to since Jan 2010, when they made the announcement. I go straight for the guys from Agco, don't even waste my time with the local dealer guys in booth. Someone on here a while back even went as far as leaving oranges in the booth, that was a great idea.

Really? I was standing in the agco both listening to someone talk when they said they were from Ontario. Maybe it was you?

It is great news that Gleaners are selling. I see it as customers thumbing their nose at Marty. He doesn't have much respect for Gleaner or any of the other traditionally American brands the way it looks to me, and I am sure he would much rather force a European brand on us, but if the market is going silver he has to go with the flow. It is a shame we couldn't do the same with the orange machinery. But if they weren't offering what we needed in orange paint, it was pretty hard to buy it. (tillage, planting, haying, large 4WD, compacts, etc.) Now they are falling all over themselves to offer tillage, haying and planting equipment with MF decals. Rather disrespectful to loyal Hesston, Sunflower and White planter customers if you ask me.

That is awesome redline, I hope everyone keeps this up. I totally agree that the success of Gleaner is EXACTLY what the dictator does not want! Speaking of promises on Orange tractors, I had a letter that was sent to me from Herman Cain a few years ago stating that "we recognize the importance of the orange tractor to the NA market and it will never go away"; this from a board member! Unfortunately, my computer crashed and I was never able to retrieve it.

When they bring out the "I don't see any new Allis-Chalmers tractors" line just comeback with "Don't you guys know that Allis-Chalmers developed the perfect tractor in 1985 and were waiting on the competition to catch up?"

Back in the 70`s WAS THE DAYS,also the early 80`s.

1984 was the first time I attended the NFMS . Wow was I impressed by the Allis Chalmers display with the 6000 and 8000 tractors and Gleaner combines. I had just purchased a new  8010 fwd.

did not look closely at the john deere toolbar, time restraints i ran thru the whole show in little over 4 hours stopping only where i intended on.  Did stopp in at the agco booth was pondering the idea of leasing a new tractor have quotes form all colors and agco is competive with the pricing, but after looking at the massey for over 15 minutes with 2 of my buddies and not a one agco rep come to us i said forget it they dont need my bussiness. 4 of the nicumpoops were standing there talking to each other and looked over there by us a couple times, i was looking at the 1 in the corner not the one out front so when i ran into my one dealer i been talking to, i told him to let me know some closer numbers next morning he called me ran my credit app and i am now in a different color.  I wound up buying and not leasing cus i founrd one i really liked and hours and price were okay i will post more later dealing now on another tractor had a few things go good for me lately and a nice way to llok into the future with some more acres to be farming with my equipment and not my risk as much.

I don't care what anyone says, but the Massey Super Brutal Force from NC and the Pro Stock campained by Carlton Cope out of Ohio are two awsome machines to watch run and see.  I am pretty color blind to the big machine's.  I like the engineering that goes into them and what they are capable of.  I'm also pissed that I can't even go out and buy a new WD-45 from my dealer either.  What to do??

My brother brought up a good point to me about the Agco/Gleaner booth.  In years past they have never had much merchandise.  This year they had tons of shirts, tractors, buckles, ect.  All celebrating "end of an era."  He went to the massey booth and they had coolers, keychains, shirts, anything you can imagine with a massey logo on it.  It was like Agco was celebrating "we finally got rid of those damn orange tractors." 

But back in the Hay day of things Allis Chalmers done the same.

I did notice that when we were there that there were a lot of people in AC shirt looking at it, but there were also alot of other people looking at it to. We were there sat. my second time going(first time i was 3 or 4, this time 16) It's an impressive machine and i hope kevin and the team at gleaner can make a go of it.
