Hello, I just purchased a W speed patrol. There is a gear stick type leaver at the rear of the tranmission. If I move this lever to the rear with the tractor in gear it stops or stops the transmisson from powering the rear end.  new to a WC. Thanks for any advise or help on this.  It is a 1940 by the serial number on the plate of the front ext.   1E 306

Cultivator disconnect.  Used to let the mechanical lift work without the tractor moving.  The unstyled WC's didn't have that and since the cult lift worked off of the utput shaft of the tranny, the tractor had to be moving for the lift to operate.

Could you look on the center of the rearend on the back side and tell me what the Tractor No. is ? The front tag is missing on my 1940 and I'm trying to narrow down the # on mine.

If you need to lift the blade maybe but can't move the tractor like up against a building or something? I don't know what lifts the blade so I'm just guessing.

Not sure about a cultivator lift but I would guess the rearend disconnect was used when towing the grader from place to place, wouldn't have to worry about the tranny shifter bouncing into gear.

Remember that the base for the W road patrol is a standard WC tractor.  That included the rear end disconnect.
Good Luck!

on my w patrol , I use the disconnect when I tow it to local show & parades. It won't fit on my trailer with the blade on it, so I tow it. I was thinking the disconnect was an option on the WC's, don't know for sure but I have another w patrol without the disconnect.
