After trying some "wish-ful thinking" solutions such as putting in heavier oil and trying different oil filiters this is what ended up happening----A complete engine overhaul as well as putting a new clutch in since the engine is out.  Should be exciting to get this tractor done and back together.

My Dad's WD is heading the same way... oil pressure drops down to next to nothing after it warms up. Good luck with your overhaul!

Don't forget all new cam bearings and check out the spring in the oil pressure relief.  My WC had a bunch of washers behind the spring so I'm thinking it was short of pressure the last while it was work about 35-40 years ago. No washers and good oil pressure now with a reground crank and all new bearings in her. I hope you got the tube in the filter housing too.

I need to overhaul a gleaner E 226 engine.  The combine's last owner did not keep the intake hose from the air cleaner in good maintenance.  Excessive fuel & engine heat melted the rubber hose at the bottom where it connects to the carb.  Dirt got in the air and now the engine runs, but smokes like mad.  How hard is it to overhaul these?  I already have a set of M&W pistons, rings, & sleeves that I purchased sometime back from someone on this site.  What will a set of bearings & gaskets cost me - ballpark figure?  Will I also need to rework the head?

Valve guides and valves will be worn too. Probably at least $60 for gaskets, $100 for mains and con rod bearings. More for camshaft bearings.
