Hi guys, Anyone have some pics of the snap coupler assm. for the B's as I think that I traded for most of one today. What is it worth,and is anyone looking for one. Thanks

From what I remember the drawbar is flipped forward and the bell bolts to the center of it.

Swimford book shows it but that is the only place I have seen it. Not sure I have seen one actually installed on a tractor.

So did Allis use that "CA" cylinder on all the Snap Couple B's? I can see why there weren't more built if you have to wrestle the drawbar around every time you want to use the Snap Couple set up.

Rockshaft looks like it is mounted too low in the pic. The one in the book mounts above the fender edge and also has two braces to the drawbar mount bolts to help support the load of those arms sticking way back. I would think that thing could rip the fender irons right off if not carefully braced up.
Always looked to me like it would really take weight off the front fast since the final drives are not layed back like a CA. Front weight was probably a must. |
