I am new to this site and hate that my first post has to be to get help with a problem, but here goes... I have a 200 allis that i couldn't get the pto clutch to engage on. tried to see if i fixed that problem and couldn't get it to start. got that fixed and now when it is running it sounds like it is "grinding", but when i push the clutch in it stops the grinding and sounds wonderful, however, the pto still wont engage. any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if yours has a hydraulic clutch or is a "pull the lever" (or push the lever, I can't remember) and a coupler slides onto the pto shaft to engage it or not. If it's the coupler, it sounds like it is not sliding onto the pto shaft...the coupler must be right on the end of the pto shaft and grinding the splines to death. When you pull, or push the lever to engage the pto it should be going into a detent when engaged.
