Fan Belt on my WD45/D17 combo

I'm not sure if I'm confused, or right on and it's really this difficult..
 
It looks to me like the fan belt needs to go around the lower radiator hose... I can't find a drain plug for the radiator to make that less messy.. am i missing somthing?

Tim,
There should be a petcock on the radiator where the lower hose is connected to the tractor. I hope the link connects you to Tony's site. Scroll down to the WD45 radiator and enlarge the picture to see what I'm talking about.

hmm.. i don't recall that.. i'll look again tonight when I attempt the replacement..
 
does the petcock drain the radiator or close the flow out of the bottom?

The drain cock may have been replaced with a plug. In any case, when open, it drains the radiator.
