I'm not sure if I'm confused, or right on and it's really this difficult..

It looks to me like the fan belt needs to go around the lower radiator hose... I can't find a drain plug for the radiator to make that less messy.. am i missing somthing?

Tim,
There should be a petcock on the radiator where the lower hose is connected to the tractor. I hope the link connects you to Tony's site. Scroll down to the WD45 radiator and enlarge the picture to see what I'm talking about.
Good Luck,
Danny

hmm.. i don't recall that.. i'll look again tonight when I attempt the replacement..

does the petcock drain the radiator or close the flow out of the bottom?

The drain cock may have been replaced with a plug. In any case, when open, it drains the radiator.
