I've got a D-19 that won't stay in 4th & 8th gear unless physically held there, does'nt grind, clash or make any noise but won't stay put. Any easy fix for this ?

The only fix I know is to replace the affected gears. C.W.

there is a lot to this problem, could be the engagement dogs are badly worn, could be the gears move back and forth to much on the main shaft, could be the countershaft is loose, could be the shift detents are worn in the shifter.  Its probably a combination of problems, usually the dogs are worn and the collar isnt moveing into the gear far enough to hold.   There is no easy answer.  HTH
