    Posted: 05 Feb 2010 at 8:54am

Hello,

Thank you in advance for any help.  I am searching for parts for an old Allis-Chalmers 410 garden tractor.  I believe it is 1971.  She has been around and in the family for quite awhile.  It seems like they do not make them like they used to.  This is a shuttle-shift type of drive.  It has a belt and brake band mechanism to go from forward to reverse.  The transmission is 4-speed, no reverse.  What I am looking for is part of the rear differential. (An axle tube assembly I’m told).  I did have a chance to look at a part list for this, but it looks rather complicated to replace just that part.  Maybe there is one of these around that I could get the whole differential from or the rest of unit if I had to.  Any help or push in the right direction would be great.

Thank you again.

Mark Wiegert

I think I have a rear-end assy that would work for you. It is heavy to ship, costly I'm sure. E-mail me if interested.

Thanks for responding.  I'm sure it's heavy, but I'm definitely interested. Where abouts do you need to ship from and how much do you want.

Mark The axle tube is not that hard to replace once you remove the transmission from the tractor. If you get a good diagram of the parts breakdown. Where are you located, we  could change it for you here at Yankee Sales & Service, we just changed an axle tube in a B 110  for a customer. We have been in business 0ver35 yrs. So we know those tractors, the problem with a used unit is that metal fatigue could happen on that unit soon after installing. The 400 shuttles were from the1974 era the first 300s were 71-72 second version 300s 73, 400s74, then for75 the 700s started. Cal inCt.

thanks for the response-sorry for my delay.  I am located in Illinois.  Do you have this assembly available for sale?  Since I have had this tractor for several years, I think I might be able to figure it out.  Please let me know if you have the part ( or where I could get it) and the cost.  Thanks for your help!
