I'm over hauling my WD. In the gasket kit, there are two grey felt seals that I'm not sure where they go. I think they go in the Rear oil seal upper retainer and in the wide grove behind the rear oil seal in the rear main bearing cap. But there wasn't any seal in those places originally, just the felt seal in the narrow groves.
Also, the ring kit had the bent wire things. It looks like they go under the oil seal, but I tried putting them in and it won't work there. The rings go in nice without those pieces. I am reringing the original 4" pistons.

My kit had 2 different rear seals. 1 was narrow for the WC block and maybe WD. The wider one was used on later engines. The seals will not fit without soaking in oil and compressing, then put them in the freezer overnight.
The rings in my kit had instructions on how and where to install them. It's been too long to remember what the instructions said.
