Anyone have any experience with what kind of power this would put out in a wd-45..226 ci? I have it in mine I found out in the 45 block and I know it's stout. Just wondering others experience.

What is your cranking compression pressure ?? 120 pounds or 180 pounds ??

Well then, you have the compression of a One-Seventy engine plus a 1/8" overbore, so you should have 67 to maybe 70 flywheel HP at 1650 loaded RPM depending on what your carb is.

I have a tsx 464 that will run with just a plug in the bowl to keep gas from running out.Tractor will turn 3000 rpm's. I know I pulled 4500lb last month and it spun out at the end of the track with 14.9x34 michelin radials. You think I could benefit from a bigger carb? Or is there anything else I could change or do to get a little more? Pulled it in 5 500 lb one time and got to the end of the track and spun the clutch out. It is extremely stout for a "factory engine".

A larger carb will add more on the top end, yes. You think yours is stout?? imagine the same set-up with 240 psi of compression.

Aw yeah we got a guy who's got a compression release on his cause starter won't turn it over....but he's got about $12k in his engine. Mine just surprised me and since I have no pto anymore I don't have a way to dyno it. My tractor actually has 190 lb compression.

My D17 cranks about 210-215 and with the stock starter, you can tell it.
I was a doofus as when I rebuilt it, I left the carb settings as is. Ran fine I thought. Over the winter I decided to play with the load adjuster and I must have been way off on what it needed cause I am out almost to the end of adjustment before it started to stumble and I backed off a bit. Responds to throttle much better now on a steep hill, can't wait to hook it.

Yes Charlie175. Mines the complete kit...valves,lifters and all. Mine has been in for some time now and I'm wondering if I should re-ring it. I also run 110+ fuel in it and the inside of my block is like a light caramel color. No suuut or anything.

Did you have to change your jets to run the 110?
If you have 190 psi I can't imagine needing a ring job

I haven't changed anything about the carb...it was built when I bought it. The boy who bought it done so because his 150hp super h was getting 30' put on him when it had 14.9x28 in Farm stock. I know my my main isn't much more than the threads left it's been reamed out so.I run the 110 in all my small engines as well. No ethanol and clean burn.
