The driver has to be 70 or older or the tractor has to be built prior to 1970?
What weight? Give us more details on the rules. Whatever the rules, I doubt a D19 would be the right choice. A 180 or 190 would be much better. |

I found my decoder ring.
Well, If I were going to do a class like that, I would make the engine / pump / turbo rules similar to the IPA Outlaw 6500 lb. group in the same state. Then you might pick up some pullers at your pulls and you could go to some of theirs if you wanted. D 19 and 190 are similar but different. 190 transmission and differential are heavier. Rotary pump rule is bad for you unless everybody else has to have one. |

This is the rules got be rotary pump can't be a in line . This a class to get the guy that ant got the $ to pull in the big classes and to try and get away from the 4mph class . They are hoping to get some younger guys to start pulling . We run with south Ill puller . The late 190 xt was diff yes but it to heavy to get to 5000 that y I going small axle here and 180 still got the drops . If i want that I just do a 17 again .

Early, small axle 190 is still stronger and wouldn't weigh hardly any more than a D 19. 190 Transmission is stronger. Larger pinion bearings, ring gear is bolted to the differential carrier where a D 19 is riveted. 190 diff carrier is thicker than a D 19. d 17 and 180 are apples and oranges for strength.
You do what you want. I would pick a 190 every day of the week and twice on Sunday and run low side of road gear in a 12 MPH class. They can make 5,000 lbs. Not much left of them, but it's been done before. |

A 180 with the 301 diesel equipped with a Roosa rotary with the 450 pump head would be an easy fit , some 4-.020 hole injectors, and she,ll be way up front if the tractors balanced right, those drop over the axle gears can handle a lot of power

I've been reading this. And i'm courous if a d19 power director would hold up. the reason no oil pressure and still the ability to shift on the fly.

If the engine runs good enough to run 12 MPH at 3,000 RPM there is no way the D 19 PD clutch will hold. If the engine is only able to go 6 MPH then it might.....maybe.
