A problem cropped up with the 7010 powershift yesterday.  It drove fine the day before.  I parked it and got in it yesterday and the powershift wont do anything.  I went to shift it and the shift lever will only go into reverse and up to second gear and will not move any further, but won't even try to pull itself. I unhooked the cable and tried to manually move the shift arm but that didn’t make a difference.  I will pull the cab floor and check the linkage and inching valve operation today.  I assume something happened in the detent.  Am I on the right track?  I've never had anything to do with a this transmission before so I'm just guessing here.

Ended up being a simple issue. The cotter key fell out of the linkage behind the detent cam of the shift valve. A little time consuming but inexpensive fix.

If i had to guess Id say something happened in the control valve to the connector between the input shaft and the rack. We had a similar problem on a 7040 years ago
