Would a 185 bell housing pattern match a 262 cu. in. from a Gleaner? The 185 engine is seized and needs to be replaced. Thanks to those 'in the know'.

thats one giant step backwards i would look for another 301 with money for the 262 for some one working on a d series

It has been a very long time since I was up inside the engine bay on a Gleaner C-2 or model F. I think if the engine is equipped with a cast iron tail shaft housing, I'd say no. I just don't remember that backplate as being tractor friendly. If the combine engine backplate has those large 3/4" holes for the tractor side frames, then yes, I think it can be made work.
