Series 1 diesel had a oil bath filter system. The air intake comes up through the hood inline and in front of the muffler. Sounds like you found a gas intake that comes up through the left rear of the hood?

The piping and mounting bracket for the diesel air cleaner are awfully unique. I just don’t think you could shoehorn the horizontal dry type from a gas under the hood anywhere.
Get the correct pieces and then use a dry vertical canister instead of the oil bath. Should be plenty from old swathers and combines of the same age. Actually new ones are fairly reasonable price in my opinion. |

Thanks Mike, 8 months of love went into it working on it daily. My retirement gift to myself. I can take some pictures for you of the intake if you PM me your cell number.
