I told somebody about the cheap diesel price and he asked how many cinnamon rolls I got.  I didn't even go in the building.  I've filled up some of the tractors, still have some to go so need to make another trip, this time will get some rolls!
Another story I heard from a guy who lives up that way, seems the contractor who was building the interstate highway (I-25) had an airplane and would use it to get to jobs around the country.  His crew was nearly done with the work there but the road wasn't open yet so the guy landed his plane on the unopened portion of the highway and taxied over to the Truck Stop.  Went in and ordered dinner and while eating a state patrolman came in all hot under the collar, asking "Who's plane is that on my highway?"  The plane owner answered, "Sonny, that's my plane on my highway and until I get the final payment on the work, it will continue to be my highway!"  The patrolman went back to his car and after talking on his radio a while, drove away in a rush.  Guess he found out the plane owner wasn't BSing him.

That is quite a funny story.
Back when I still worked for the senator we used to build for a very old farmer. He was the innovator that got the poultry business off the ground and sold the property for the XNA airport. He always wore old ragged overalls and never changed. He went to Wesners grill in Rogers Arkansas for Breakfast every day. He drove like a bat out of hell. He got stopped on the way to breakfast one morning. The patrols started to write him a ticket. He told him to write two tickets cause he’d be coming back through there in an hour and driving just as fast.

And the barrel is down to $48!!! They are just gouging us. Pump prices should be way lower.

Michael, I'd get outta bed and go get her some if she asked.....

Prices have stayed steady here now for ever.  Still at $2.27, down $0.02 from a week ago.  Kwik Trip rules around here.  THEY set the prices.

What concerns me worse is the cost of beef...over $5 a lb for burger....

You won't believe this and I was shocked my self but I paid $1.85 this morning at the Kwik Trip in Superior, WI. Two other stations had the same and another a dime more. I had to take a picture to prove I wasn't dreaming.

I'll do that next time Michael,  I had to feed the pump 4 times this time, last time it wouldn't take the card again but used another one.  Did go in afterword and got a couple cinnamon rolls.  Guess it pays to show up at 8PM, heard some people have had to wait over an hour to get to the pump.  They must sell a lot of gallons per day, guy came just as I finished with a 300 gallon tank.  I got 170 this time.  Still got a couple machines I could fill and another 170 gallons of tanks also.  Gas at Murphy's is $1.90, filled up the Tacoma on the way.

Hey Tbone95. I used to be in Sault Michigan every weekend riding and racing dirt bikes up until about 1993. I had lots of friends over there. Used to be friends with the guys that owned the Honda dealer there.

Regular gas dropped to $1.07/L here today. But that's still $4.00 a gallon. We're getting robbed. Even worse when I fill the dump truck up with diesel. It's not coming down here at all. They know how to gouge people that rely on oil heat.

Went down $0.03 yesterday.  It's down to $2.22 here now.  Still a lot better than nothing.  Now if only premium would come down some more. That's what I use in all my tractors...and ALL small engines.  No more replacing those small supply lines that come out of the little gas tanks. Wink

Current wholesale price is $1.32. Depends on how thin of a margin retailers are willing to work on.

Down to $1.909 here, still above two bucks in Marshalltown.

I don't get diesel being 85 cents a gallon higher.

I am just wondering what it is gonna do after the millions of travelers get off the highway after the holidays?

I am heading to the east coast after the holidays and that 2 buck gas will lighten the load on the 7 plus gallons per hour always hungry Ford.  Wink

Nice!

2 buddies of mine bought brand new Honda Shadows from that dealer in 1985 or 86.  The one knew how to ride, the other didn't.  They offered to show him the basics, let him practice in the parking lot, etc. No, he knew it all, he'd be fine.  Pulled out onto the Business Spur there and dumped it right in the center lane!!!  Talk about a walk of shame right back into the dealership to have it fixed up!
