Have gas prices dropped in your area?  I went to Longmont, CO,about 10 miles from my house for brunch with my daughter.  Gas is always cheaper there so I took 7, 5 gallon  cans with me as I wanted to fill up the bale wagon's two 40 gallon tanks for the winter.  Drove past the regular place I go, price was $2.38, down about .10 since last week, went to north Longmont to the HF store and the Murphys had unleaded for $2.22!  Spent $113. filling 35 gallons of cans plus my pickup.  Need to get another 20 gal or so for the bale wagon and to have some around for various gas tractors.

The Paris riots are understandable
hmm...
1st a HUGE job benefits package, like 5 weeks holidays in 1st year, full this and that...
2nd a HUGE recent influx in population to support. AKA migrants, aliens, asylumer, what ever you call them, ALL get free stuff...
3rd the 'Paris accord' agreement..
so.... the guv finally looked at it's bank account and said hmm. we need more money(doh !) so, what else raise taxes on gas...
Anyone with a wiff of common sense saw this coming ,months, even years ago...

what irks me is that diesel, which is cheaper to make, so I've been told, costs MORE than gas...
at any rate I'd rather have buck a litre gas  than buck a beer anyday !

Cheaper to make, as in less "refined", a lower distillate.....which would equate to fractions of a penny per unit.  But higher in energy content.  Diesel 139000 BTU per US Gal, Gasoline 124000 BTU per US Gal, then figure in all the taxes, fees, additives, anti diesel "policies".

re:
how is the price determined ?

Probably based on what YOU will pay and for how long...
There's supposed to be a huge surplus,so it'll be cheap cause 'they' can't store it too long...'they' cut back on production now, then there'll be a shortage late winter/early spring ,'driving' the price up...so yousave a nickel now, pay a dime later !!
Bottom line, it's ALL rigged.... 'they' ALWAYS make money.

As per normal higher than all but Jay 3.49,is the cheap and probably find some near 4.00 in town yet.

They put new tax on gas last year to fix the roads. But probably means new bicycle lanes, and roundabouts that a semi cannot fit in.

yeah..roundabouts...dang things are poppig up here...
1st local one was fine for 3 -4 days until a 53 foot semi came through.....idiot 'engineers' never KNEW 53'ers existed ??? DOH...
2nd loal roundabout cost us taxpayers over 8 MILLION Canucks to solve a 'traffic' problem. When I said I could have done it for 1.4 million they shake their heads as to my COMMON SENSE solution for the alledged 'traffic problem'. Oh yeah they ADDED 2 more traffic light to control traffic. hmmm and here I thought roundabouts allowed better flow ??

Yea Ted,, I seen it.... good resemblance

I was in Amarillo yesterday,, $1.00 difference between gas and diesel at one of the 'quickie' type stores,, $0.70 different most other places...what's up with the wide spread in price?? Don't give the standard "seasonal blend" BS either...
$1.94 gas,, with my $0.05 discount card, diesel, $2.94...

With this kind spread I will not buy another diesel pickup...unleas I'm pulling a large,/camper/heavy,trailer over 75-80% miles I drive it...

Well the price is going down even out here, but gee still 3.35 and I am told we got real junk gas as well.  All kinds of people say fill up in NV or AZ and your wagon will be 2 to 4  more miles out of that gal of gas.

Price has dropped to $2.11 at the Murphy in North Longmont, Diesel was $2.91.  I put 25 gallons in my Freightliner.  Today I went to a dentist in Boulder and gas was $2.54 but diesel was $2.84.  Think I'll take the 50 gallon tank into town and fill it up.  Boulder prices are always higher then Longmont.  Must be the yuppies in Boulder don't drive diesels.

No doubt as to that. Currently under $2 a gallon here but expect that to rise as fast as settled low.

There are still calls to suppress US oil and Nat Gas well fracking so that too will start incremental rises as supplies begin to thin and existing wells dry out. The use of CNG Turbine Generators to offset Coal stations will loom as it did in the 80s where became untenable to run. What most Greenies do not seem to comprehend, those 'Emission Free' wind turbines use LARGE quantities of oils/greases for lubricants and even if States 'Synthetic' are STILL made of Petroleum base stocks, they require fewer changes but still Must be replaced and replenished as they are known to leak substantially, the CTG units eat almost as much oil operating for 24hrs. as they contain in storage on their skids.

I filled my farm gas tank last week with regular unleaded (no alcohol) for $2.50, and topped off my farm diesel tank for $2.25/gal number 2.

Now, because I did that, each commodity should drop a good 25 cents this week!? Embarrassed

I expect a Christmas present from all who benefit from my actions Smile.

Ethanol around here is $2.10

I'm thinking that was the price back in the latter 60's early 70's....  I had my 'muscle' cars then...  of course I was only making $1.25 and hour.....working in a gas station.  Remember back then??  The guy would come out and pump your gas, wash your windshield, check the air in your tires, check your oil, radiator and any lights that might be out.  Ever think about giving this poor SOB a tip???  Nope, but the girl next door at the root beer stand......by the way, I married her back in 67.

Went to the Johnson's Corner Truck Stop.  Off Road Diesel, $1.65, On road $3.04. Only downside is the pump is slow and the pump quits at $75, so have to feed it your card again.  (and it's 40 miles one way)  Gas at Murphy's is down to $1.94, diesel there was $2.84.

Back when I was still workin at the refinery,,I used to get called all the time bout the high gas and diesel prices right here in Artesia,,,being as this is where the refinery is that made the dang stuff,,!! Everybody wantin to know why the gas made here and trucked to Lubbock, Tx was always higher here than over there. I would try to explaain thet the refinery sold the gas and all the other products at the Racks to anybody that had a permit, a tanker to haul it in, and a line of credit . The refinery had no say-so on the amount that "The Wholesaler" priced it at at his stations. Just good old American Capitalism at work,,,,,,WinkWink

I told somebody about the cheap diesel price and he asked how many cinnamon rolls I got.  I didn't even go in the building.  I've filled up some of the tractors, still have some to go so need to make another trip, this time will get some rolls!
Another story I heard from a guy who lives up that way, seems the contractor who was building the interstate highway (I-25) had an airplane and would use it to get to jobs around the country.  His crew was nearly done with the work there but the road wasn't open yet so the guy landed his plane on the unopened portion of the highway and taxied over to the Truck Stop.  Went in and ordered dinner and while eating a state patrolman came in all hot under the collar, asking "Who's plane is that on my highway?"  The plane owner answered, "Sonny, that's my plane on my highway and until I get the final payment on the work, it will continue to be my highway!"  The patrolman went back to his car and after talking on his radio a while, drove away in a rush.  Guess he found out the plane owner wasn't BSing him.

That is quite a funny story.
Back when I still worked for the senator we used to build for a very old farmer. He was the innovator that got the poultry business off the ground and sold the property for the XNA airport. He always wore old ragged overalls and never changed. He went to Wesners grill in Rogers Arkansas for Breakfast every day. He drove like a bat out of hell. He got stopped on the way to breakfast one morning. The patrols started to write him a ticket. He told him to write two tickets cause he’d be coming back through there in an hour and driving just as fast.

Here in the Sault regular gas has dropped to $1.099/Litre, but diesel has not dropped at all. It is still $1.329/L

And the barrel is down to $48!!! They are just gouging us. Pump prices should be way lower.

Michael, I'd get outta bed and go get her some if she asked.....

Prices have stayed steady here now for ever.  Still at $2.27, down $0.02 from a week ago.  Kwik Trip rules around here.  THEY set the prices.

What concerns me worse is the cost of beef...over $5 a lb for burger....

You won't believe this and I was shocked my self but I paid $1.85 this morning at the Kwik Trip in Superior, WI. Two other stations had the same and another a dime more. I had to take a picture to prove I wasn't dreaming.

I'll do that next time Michael,  I had to feed the pump 4 times this time, last time it wouldn't take the card again but used another one.  Did go in afterword and got a couple cinnamon rolls.  Guess it pays to show up at 8PM, heard some people have had to wait over an hour to get to the pump.  They must sell a lot of gallons per day, guy came just as I finished with a 300 gallon tank.  I got 170 this time.  Still got a couple machines I could fill and another 170 gallons of tanks also.  Gas at Murphy's is $1.90, filled up the Tacoma on the way.
