OK, so I've sold hundred of those starter switches on the side of the B starters. Sent a starter to a customer, and he couldn't figure out how it went with the rod and such. Finally figured out he was missing the starter, switch, rocker lever, and rod.
So.... I thought I would print him a pic of the whole setup from the parts book. It's not there! It shows a solenoid. Pulled a parts book from the shelf, same thing!
I'm never ashamed to learn something new, but have I lost my mind?
I was unaware any B's ever came factory with solenoid starter setup. I know there was a rod you pushed with your heal, and one that pulled on the later B's, but unaware of a solenoid setup.
Anyone care to comment on this (not on my mental state)?

You have the picture for the B-125 stationary engine. The 'B' tractor is on a different page.

I have two starters with studs instead of the contact. I think they are autolite starters.

Jim - It's OK- No pun intended.
Like the man above said, your on the wrong page.
Next page. Electric Starting. B-IB-C. Picture stinks but the part numbers are all there for the rods. 5 of them. Brackets. 3 of them. Levers. 2 of them and, 2 switches. a Delco and a Auto-lite.
A pretty decent photo of the Starter/switch with the lever is on B-C page 40 of AC form SM3 "Knowlege Means Power". Covers G, B&C, & CA

Wow, college education failed me again :). I see the photo now. Though it won't help my costomer since the lever/switch is not really shown because it is on the bottom.
I think I will go back to bed now.

For a minute there I thought you were looking at an English B since they had, I think what they called, a Lucas set-up with solenoid and key switch.

My CA has the pull rod with the switch on top. I thought B's went that way after the CA was introduced.

That's okay Jimbo. They have pills for that. I take em' to keep my sanity sometimes. The drawback to them is they stunt yer' growth. That's why I'm working on a G model now. I can get on that one easier without to much help.... LOL!!

What had me going is that out of the 30 or so B's I've salvaged out, may 5 had the original setup. I've gone to far as to talk to a local shop about reproducing the little pig-tailed pushrod.
Steve, will the pill stunt my growth outward? I good at 6'. In the 6th grade I was 6' and 185 lbs. I graduated at 6' and 185 lbs. Got married a year later at 6' 185lbs. Then something happened? 6' and 250lbs and I think my brains slumped into my gut. Can't remember a durn thing and my mind is always on my next meal :)

Jim,
My weight hasn't changed much since high school, so I don't think the these pills have any effect on weight, but I was 5' 4"/148. Now I'm 3'1" at 149.... Waist is the same, had to shorten the pants tho...... Steve@B&B |

Steve, I think being the brunt of all the short jokes has gone to your head. Maybe the pills have something to do with it but I don't believe you are 3'1".
