Recently bought a WD45 at the end of the engine serial number is the letters OH.
what does these letters mean?

Perhaps a rebuilder stamped it OH to signify that they had performed an overhaul?

H was propane. PA was gas engine.

Post the entire engine serial number; perhaps the O is actually a 0?
If the tractor is a WD, the engine number will be WD-XXXXXX followed by one or two letters. In this case PA or GA (late) indicates Gasoline, K (or KA) indicates Kerosene or distillate and H (or HA) indicates "High Altitude". If the tractor is a WD-45, the serial number should consist of 45- XXXXXX followed by 1 or 2 letters indicating fuel type. eg: G or GA for gasoline. I can't find the fuel suffix letters for the WD-45 other than gasoline but I am going to assume they may be the same as the late WDs.
I can't find any specific letter designations for the WD-45 propane tractors but I see that piston part number 223507 is used for both the WD low octane fuel tractors (5.00:1) as well as the WD-45 Butane, LP gas and gasoline powered tractors (7.2:1). The wide variation in compression ratios must be a result of the 4" vs 4.5" stroke.
It seems I have seen a few other variations in the last two digits of engine serial numbers over the years but, unfortunately, I didn't make note of them at the time.
Sorry for the long post, lot of stuff to cover here.
After all this, I hope you do find an answer to your seemingly simple question. LOL

Cleaned the end of the engine serial number better the letters are GH, the tractor is a WD45, according to the serial number over 200 hundred was built before it was.

Is it possible the letters are ‘GA’? That would be more likely.

I agree with Tram; by far, the greatest number of WD-45s had GA (gasoline) as a serial number suffix.

The letter is a clearly H. Could this engine be one built for a high altitude area?
