Repainted 1949 Allis Chalmers model G with 2k urethane over sealer. Persian orange #1, of course. Tire rims Rust-Oleum gray. Wrote about it here:

Just a posting tip; our smart phones take photos 42 inches wide. Reduce to 12 or so.

Had an interesting mission for the NF 45 yesterday. It helped out with the 756 Farmall project. Fuel tank had a little rust in it, was going to mount it on the 185 and do a little mowing but wet conditions nixed that. Picked up oil and air filters for the 185 last week, air is installed. Probably do the oil change this week. Dad wrote the hours on the old air filter, have put 210 on it in ten years. Now up to 43XX. At this rate it should easily outlast me! That works pretty well. I did that as well, only the brands were reversed. I strapped a 170 tank to the Farmall Cub

Not today but yesterday; the little crick on the neighbor's property overflowed it's banks after extremely heavy rain. Had to pull the stone out of the original bed to get the water to flow where it's supposed to.
Used the ol' WD with Allis snap coupler blade.

Spent the afternoon trying to mow some down tangled birdsfoot trefoil three hours three rounds with the wd 45 and the 7 mower. I understand why they invented the disk mower.

I made a gas gauge today for the B from an old broom stick. It's pretty fancy.
It may qualify for folk art! the main thing is it works.

I used my CA to pull a blue spruce tree that failed to stay Green & Blue this year!
It came out on the 1st pull! It deserved a ride thru the Neighborhood! So then it was time to have a test run on the D15II to be ready for a club tractor ride tomorrow for a local fund raiser! Forecast is Hot weather! Better take the AC Umbrella! Edited by DSpears N IL - 24 Jul 2021 at 8:08pm |

Had the power washer out, washed the W/F 45 AND the 6080! Have been meaning to wash that 6080 for a long time, just never seem to get to it. Looks much better. Found a bad battery cable on the W/F 45. To the farm store this morning.

Got around to adding a new temp sending gauge from Steiner to my 1940 B. Then mowed
a little patch of land with the woods belly mower to test it out.

Got the 720 out to move some dirt in the yard. Dug some holes with the 6080 moving a giant silver maple. That was Friday. Today I did some mowing with the CA after getting home from the auction in College Springs. |

What did I do with my Allis Chalmers today? I took it to the Iowa State Fair. The Central Hawkeye club is looking for more members so for $20 I figured why not. I always wanted to have tractor at the fair so now I can cross that one off my bucket list...

Used the model 140 loader adapted to the WD45 to flip over an old Woods M5 brush cutter to take the gearbox off. Time for new bottom bearings and seals.

Got an old Allis 'U' up and running today. It's been sitting in the fence row for over ten years and probably hasn't run in about thirty! It wasn't stuck, but wouldn't roll over completely due to a broken valve head sitting on number two piston. I pulled the head last fall and got the head done over the winter. Just spent about a week getting it all back together and got it fired up today. Had to take the carb apart again yesterday and drill out all the little brass plugs to clean the rust out of all the internal passages, then make new plugs and re-install them. Now works like it should! Those big Zenith K5 carbs are a complex unit to get perfectly clean. Made a short video, but can't seem to upload it. |
