What AC do I have?

Hi there, new to the forum. I was hoping to see if anyone can tell me what kind of tractor I have? We inherited the tractor from my in laws . All I know about it is that it’s been about 7-8 years since it has last run and according to my wife her dad rebuilt the engine and painted it. It is a 6 cylinder gas engine. I have tried researching and looking on google images and my best guess is that we have a 190? However on the image search I don’t see any 190s with the same grill (4 holes). Can anyone identify what I have or tell me where to find model numbers? I need to know so I can know what parts to look for. I need to replace all of the fuel lines because they are badly dry rotted and leaking. The other problem I have is there is no battery in the box. What battery do I need? I pulled the battery from my ford bronco to see if it would turn over and the 750 cca was not enough. Sorry for the long post, I’m just hoping to get some information so I can get this thing running soon. It could really come in handy for some chores around the property this spring. battery might have been 1000 amps............. but the motor is only 300 cubic inches... A good 750 amp should turn it over fine........ check cables / ground / starter motor.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will check the starter and cables when I get time. It has been sitting outside the whole time which is why everything is so dry rotted. I have a feeling I’m going to be replacing a lot of parts on this thing. Just trying to get it running first!

The serial/model number is on the left side of the clutch housing.

Looking at the pictures again, that may be a 200. That looks like a 200 cab without air conditioning.

Definitely a pre 1968 190 or 190XT because it has the early style side panels under rhe hood and that is not a 200 factory cab. Looks like a Year-A-Round or something similar.

Sure does look like a real good start to having a nice tractor. Welcome to the forum and these folks can help you get it up and going. 

I agree, nice looking tractor. If I were to guess, I'd say it's in Eastern Colorado? I guess we're spoiled out here on the Great Plains, as it's fairly common for machines to look like that after sitting out their whole lives, especially machines from the '70s/'80s. A little bit of wax and things really shine up. I've been told it's the same in Eastern Washington and the Palouse country. 

I’m hoping to mess around with it a little bit today. I picked up a fuel filter and some new fuel lines. It looks like somebody bypassed the sediment bowl and put in an aftermarket fuel filter for better filtration. So today I’m gonna see if I can get fuel and get it to crank. Thanks to everyone for all the great info!

From a closer view of one of your tractor’s side photos, it’s loader’s rear frame may be close or possibly covering your tractor’s serial number on its left side?? So try looking just behind the loader for it.

Are you located just south of Rt34’s entrance into Thompson Canyon? If so, did the flood 3-4 years ago affect your FIL’s farm? I’ve driven thru or near your Loveland/Longmont area many times when I25 is a parking lot. Our son & his family live in Denver. He attended NCU Greeley.

Good job finding it! It’s a 1965, series one(I). Heres the serial numbers per years. You might try cleaning beyond the 6417 to see if it is a “XT” &/or “D”.

Starter could be dragging? But I’d guess that if it’s clicking, it needs a better ground(negative contact) and/ or your battery(s) have a low cranking load? Try using your vehicle to jump the tractor battery(s) as you try starting it. If that starts it then your ground is ok, but tractor battery is not.

You said it sat outside for 7 or 8 years could it have possibly gotten water down the exhaust and engine seized up.

any chance you are using the key to start it?  You have to push the button to engage the starter.  Good luck and hope this helps.
