Can the 5 bolt hubs on a C be used on B finals, and is there any reason not to use the large wheel center as an outside weight on another C?

Only if it is the style hub with the splined center below. The 5 bolt C hub/shaft are a different configuration than the B splined shaft, and won't fit in a B final drive. I believe the C shaft is a little longer.

Given what Larry B Fan said, if you have access to a machine shop anything can be done.

Thanks, what would that splined hub be from? Did some model C's use them?

The small splined hub above was used on some B's (most frequently B's with the staight front axle, for some reason) They're not rare, but not common, either.

B's had a splined shaft and the wheel center fit the spline. Some later ones had the 5 bolt hubs to fit the shaft.

From left to right: B spline axle (most common on B), B 5 lug axle and C 5 lug axle. The early adjustable front axle B's where sometimes equipped with the spline to lug adapters shown above prior to development of the B lugged axle.

As  you can see, the C and B axles are not interchangeable.

If this makes any sense Chuck. The bolt pattern on a 5 lug B flanged axle or the B splined hub adapter is the same as a C.  The wheel centers are different. Wheels for both the B with the flanged axle and the C are reversable deep dished and have the same AC part number. The B wheel center for the B with the adapter hub is reversable and has a shallow dish. Almost flat.
I guess you could use C wheel hubs for wheel weights. They just don't stack up to neat to bolt them on. Find yourself a set of the thicker 4 notch C wheels like used on Cs on steel and use them without weights to add weight.
All Cs used only the short flanged axle

I have used extra C wheel centers as wheel weights on a C, would work on a B with the the 5 bolt hubs as well. Kip

Thanks Kip, I have another C with inner weights and thought about hanging spare centers on the outside.
