are you talking about just removing the hand clutch to prevent slippage?
you can bolt the clutch together by using 2 of the pto drive gears, or you can use a splined coupler from a wc trans to pinion shaft. several different ways to accomplish this. think you could probably bolt the clutch together if you weren't wanting to also lose weight I don't think you mean put in a gear box in place of the clutch? Yes I was meaning taking out the housing. I saw a picture where they took out the hand clutch housing moved the wd gear box housing to rear axle and in front put a wc gear box and it was connected to the engine.

wd/45 gearbox is one casting with the rear end. you would have to remove the torque housing ( hyd pump and clutch section) and replace with wc bellhousing and transmission, and couple it to the wd/45 input shaft then figure a way to seal the oil in.
a bunch of work to cobble something together that wouldnt be legal to pull anywhere. in my opinion, not worth the time and effort
