Let's see tractors w/ Fat Back 24.5 or 30.5 x 32s

30.5's 0n the 210.---23.1 x 34" duals on the D-21--- 20.8 x 38" radial duals on the 220

Had 24.5-32's on my 7060. They SUCKED! Only good thing was they looked cool. They ride terrible, made the whole tractor vibrate on the road, terribly expensive, could not run duals on the drill, too wide to fit in the furrow when we still plowed and they just would not put the power to the ground like they should with out loading them or having a bunch of wheel weights.

I changed over to 20.8R38's, made a new tractor out of it. I also run duals now since I could narrow it up because of my 750 Deere drill. Now with the drill when I shift from 5-6 it will pull the front end off the ground an inch or two unless I put the front weights on, 24.5-32's just slipped till they caught up. No more spinning when working ground either with the 20.8R38's.

With two 24.5-32's you have 860 square inches of rubber hitting the ground. With four 20.8R38's you have 1500 square inches, that's a 47% increase I believe.

My 7580 has 8 24.5-32's on it and they are alright. Lots of floatation and will put all the power to the ground easy. Only thing I don't like there is they are bad for getting flat spots if it sits a while and with clamp on duals it makes it too wide to space them out so they don't fill up with mud if we have a wet fall.

I think your better off going with 650/75R32's if you want a big tire. Much flatter than the balloonish style of a regular 24.5-32, they will ride better and put more power down. 20.8R38's are a lot cheaper though.

Wow, great photos. I learned that a D21 has rear lights on the back of its fenders opposed to the 210 or 220s. Dave7060, your comments about the fat tires rough ride & poorer performance is interesting. Maybe that's why most fat tire D21s were weighted down to the hilt?
DustinMo, why does your third D21's rear tires have such wide spaced lugs with a prominent center rib?
Jorstad, what model is sitting in the shed by the 220, has the Fwa looking axles? I've never seen a 190 with fat tires. Is it a beach master 190?
Eldon(WA), is your D21 a series I or II? Did you swap it tires to another tractor? LOL..

the tractor next to the 220 is a 220 fwa  and the 190 has 23.1-30 on it.

It's a Series I.....haven't figured out how to get these tires off yet LOL! Those 2 sets of inner weights and set of outer weights are intimidating me....

eldon what do you think of these,   had them off to put new tires on and axle seals in it want to talk heavy,,,

I believe they are rice and cane tires.

Shameless, I'm working on a 190 XT that has the drawback bent up too, still trying to figure out how that happened!

Why everyone is talking fat tires does anybody know where I could find a set of 24.5x32 rims and centers? Im restoring a d21 that they would go on. Thanks.

My other question is what hubs are you using to bolt on your steel wheels
