here is a 180 i been building for quite some time now. this was the first pull in 4 years with this set up and still some bugs to be worked out it is a allis 301 55/6500 lbs hot stock , Apump 450cc, 3lm, 7th gear 18.4 x 38. you dont need a cummins in everything to build power

Your video isn't working. Pretty impressive to run 7th gear in a 180 at stock displacement with a 3LM. Same ratio / speed as 8th gear in a 190 / 200. Is this a 3,000 RPM limit class?

Congratulations. I can't see the video but would like to see it. I would have liked to keep the 301 in mine. It was just more cost effictive to go cummins power

Pretty simple set up then. Stock cubes, hardened connecting rods (I hope)3lm 466, and a nice fuel system. I assume you have the head ported. Stock cam or reground? Nothing tricky and it runs good. A newer technology turbo could get you more yet. Looks like you did your homework over the last 4 years. Time well spent.

It is a stock cam. Hard rods solid pushrods. Rockers, ported head and valves. Reliefs in pistons. Cheap and hope reliable setup. At the end of run it didn't want to idle down right away. Pump shop called. Plunger was sticking in pump should be good for the season. Thanks for everyone help on here and the old few the proud the orange from

click on ops heads orange link to watch. To me it looks like way too much fuel, and you're lucky it didn't run away at the end, I can hear it drop a cylinder, which usually means a plunger stuck, which sticks the rack in that position. Usually if it sticks like that, it scores and has to be replaced.

Thats Ed for the link info! Yeah that baby runs great! When I had my 180 running good id do 7 th gear , it has 24.5-32.s , cool night air and a 450 Roosa pump head , 2.5 turbo ; always wondered how the PD would fail but it never did
