Hi Milburn
Welcome to the greatest Tractor Forum going. Lots of good info available here. The H3 - Gas, and HD3 - Diesel - are based on the Allis D-15 Model Tractor. Early ones I think were 149 cu.in. Later ones were 160 cu.in and use a Fram PH8A. Gary

The manual calls for 80 ep oil in the final drives. Transmission calls for 10w-30 and the shuttle clutch also. They are a nice little machine. Surprising what they will push.

What Manual are you reding in - Title, Form number ? I have never heard of using Detergent Oil in a transmission, - and especially not in the Shuttle Housing. In my H-3 HD-3 Operators Instructions: P.14 Engine - SAE 10W winter and SAE 20W summer P.16 Hydraulic - SAE 20-20W Transmission - SAE 20-20W Final Drives - 20-20W Shuttle - 20-20W If it were mine I would use: 10W30 in Engine Trans. Hydraulic in Hydraulic and Shuttle 80 / 90 in Transmission and Final Drives. Gary |

I am getting my information from my operators instructions, form TM-415, for serial # 8694 and up. Page 17, Lubrication and service guide. Transmission, 10w30 viscosity oil. Final drives, 80ep oil. Power director or shuttle clutch, 10w-30 oil. Just what the manual says. My manual is for the latter models. |
