We use Dad's '05 Ram 2500 with the 5.9L diesel 4X4 to pull the tractors around with. He had the turnover gooseneck ball installed and a sprayed in bedliner right after he bought it. Only has right at 30,000 miles on it so far and has plenty of power to pull my D14 and the JD A on a 25 footer. Gets a little over 18 mpg empty.

We pulled my D14, Dad's JD H, and a buddy's 8N Ford on our gooseneck at the same time back in October. She knew she was back there but never hesitated. We haven't tried the D14, H, and the A at the same time. Don't have enough room on the trailer or he'd try it I'm sure...

Just when I thought I was finishing my "honey-do-list", she turned the page!!!

2000 GMC Sierra Z71. 204000 miles has a small oil leak but still goes 3-4000 miles before adding a quart of oil, so I think its say to say it don't burn any oil.

These are trucks I have owned over the years.  The brown 1983 Chevy I bought when I was a kid, (350 4 speed), spent a lot of money on body work and motor.  The red 1995 Z71 bought new, it was a GREAT truck, very few problems sold it with over 200,000 miles.  The grey 2006 2500HD was my favorite truck, bought it new, got totaled when a trailblazer hit me head on.  Now I have the 2008 1500, bought this one new also, have changed to aluminum wheels and lifted the front end 2" since this photo was taken.

Empty in the cold it gets 21 miles an gal but in the summer I can get 30 with the cap off. 200,000 km on it. I do have an custom 5 in exhaust and an k&n air filter. it's not chipped. 2001 Ford F350 crew cab V-10.  Herman or The Hermanator as we call him (after Herman Munster).  125,000 miles.  18 mpg - 8 in the winter + 10 in the summer = 18.................
Has been a good truck, I can't complain.  Don't drive it as much as before due the price of gas, but he always starts and pulls the camper and boat with no complaints.  The auto lock hubs quit working a while back so I just leave them locked in all winter.
I used to work for GMC Truck, we had a special project back in the late '70's, we would pick parts off the assembly line for our project, after seeing the line work, and the design process from the inside, I have driven Fords ever since.  Cheers,
Creek

This is my 1986 Chevrolet C10 that has 210,000 miles on it but I done a frame off restoration on it about 3 years ago and now only gets driven in good weather.  I still like the ride of it as good as any of the newer ones and I don't have to worry about ABS brakes, power windows and locks, computers, air bag lights, or any of that other stuff that sucks the green out of your wallet.

My spring project after some more tractor stuff is to do a little makeover. It'll get 4-wheel drive and fuel inj.
