I have a 1950 WD, it has a Zenith Bendix carb on it but it does not appear to be the one from the factory. The assembly number on the carb is 12544 which I believe is a model 68. Iam doing a restoration on the tractor so my question is, Is the model 68 a better Carb than the original one that came from the factory or should it be replaced with the original one.
I suspect the Zenith model 68 came off of a IH because the tractor also has the IH battery ignition unit distributor on it. The tractor does run after replacing the condenser, adjusting the points and cleaning the carb.Just looking for some advice on if the model 68 is better than the original and what not. This is going to be a restoration project so I may be asking more questions if I have a difficult time finding information in the forum. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
