It swings or bolts down underneath the straw chute to spread straw farther than the original design. Looks homemade. I don't see any paddles on it. Maybe it was for making windrows ??

Looks like its in the windrow position, like said, home made setup, looks to be based off the super spreader kit that Gleaner offered for the N series.
That bracket sure looks like a Vittetoe Chaff Spreader. If that price is in Canadian dollars, definitely not a bad price if its a runner and you want one. 83 has quite a few improvements, and the big 516 engine in the N7 is way better than the wrung out 426 in the N6.
