Finally got around to checking the brakes on my D17 and it’s not good. Right side drum is grooved pretty bad assuming from the rivets. Guess I will be calling Agco dealer tomorrow to see if it’s still available. Both front springs are also broken which surprised me since they worked decent especially the left side. I’m sure they have been dragging which means I need to replace them. My questions are if the drum is still available and what size were the front headlights? I believe WD headlights were put on it at some point. I recently purchased a correct 1959 shroud, 3 bar grill, and headlights. The headlights that came with the shroud measure 6 1/4” across.

Walt's tractor has a good price on the drums.

OK has a good assortment of brake parts also

OK tractor has the lights

I can measure mine and see as they didn't change until the S-IV came out.

I have lights, it just depends which are factory correct. I’m guessing the bigger set is correct although the smaller WD lights do look good on it.

Yes, Series 1 headlights are slightly larger than WD/45 lights.

Brake drums are the same as WD or WD45. After market has them. I have several very nice used ones. The correct lights are sealed beam. I have a set for sale. Shop in your area to save on freight cost. Support the local guys.

I got a correct year shroud with lights from a forum member. Very nice and just noticed the lights to be larger than what came on this D17 I bought. I figured the lights on the shroud were correct but just wanted to verify. Obvious now the previous owner put WD lights on it. Just wanting to put it back like it supposed to be. I have a friend that says he has a good used brake drum. Looks like I will be pulling both drop housings off, drum on one side, axle seal replacement and inner pinion shaft seal needs to be replaced on the other side. Ugh…
