HI, I bought a steering box, I think its a gremmer,  to replace the ross steering box on my 45 B. but the steering arm wont fit the tapered spline.  Did I buy a box for a bigger tractor ? or is the taperd shaft differant sizes ?

If my memory is correct the Ross and Gemmer use different arms. I don't have my parts books at hand but that would be a way to tell for sure.  Maybe bumping this to the top someone will look for ya.

John,
If you in fact do have a Gemmer and have no use for it, I may be interested in buying it. kenneth.bolton@ces.uwex.edu

Did the B use the Gemmer box ?  I thought the C box was backwards  of the B box

I put a post in the classifieds for a steering arm for the gemmer , but no replies yet. Are they available ? or very scarce ? should I look for another Ross Box ?  The bearings are bad and the cover plate is broken on my ross.

VanCamps sell a repro cover plate online, and the Ross bearings are available through AGCO.......... not terribly priced either...

Look in MISC section....
