Will the spindles, housings, and pulleys interchange between a L306CA mower and L59CA mower? Will anything else interchange as well? Thanks, Tim

The housings will interchange. The  spindles will as long as they come from a L prefix mower, difference being left hand threads for the blade bolts.  By the way the bearings for a Woods belly mower spindle is the same set number as used for the front wheel outer bearing  of any 60s 70s Chevy car with drum brakes and a darn sight cheaper at any car parts place than from Woods.

I had a bearing go out on a spindle on my Woods L-306 many years ago.  By the time I priced all the parts to fix it (bearings, cones, seals, etc.) it was only a few dollars more to buy a whole new spindle.  I did the latter.  It was much easier.

I bought whole spindles from our local tractor dealer that were for a New Holland mower. They were less expensive and as far as I could tell were the same spindles.

I don't need spindles, I just wanted to know if the parts would interchange. And yes, Woods parts are expensive but what isn't. I have a L59 deck already and  I am going to pick up a L306 deck today. If the parts interchange, great! Thanks, Tim

The blade attaching hardware is different for the L59 and L306 I have.  In the manual too.  Apparently, there is a clutch design in the L306 to permit slipping that is different in the L59.  I know, I just ordered all new attaching hardware from Woods.
