You need 80-90w oil gear for transmission and final drive

The operators manual says SAE 50W above 32 degrees and SAE 30W below 32. 90 wt EP oil is a good choise and works well. I am presently using a universal transmission/hydraulic oil because it is less expensive and the HD6's take a lot of oil. In my opinion it is very important to completely drain the old oil because these old machines collect a lot of dirt and condensation. I found a lot of water in my final drive and hydraulic system.
